Kel Avery, better known to her fans as Maureen Darleen, is the great-granddaughter of Dan Thunden, appearing in the Doc Savage adventure Fear Cay.
She is kidnapped at an airport before Doc Savage can intercept her to learn what she knows of the mysterious Dan Thunden and Fountain of Youth, Inc. Her body guard, Da Clima, is beaten up by Santini and his gang, while Doc is distracted by a different fight set up to lure Doc and his aides away from their real target.
